Attendance Policy
Saturday, August 01, 2009
Attendance is crucial for students to enjoy maximum success at school.  Should an absence occur, students have two days to bring a written excuse to the office.  The excuse should state the date of the absence, the reason for the absence, and be signed by the parent or guardian.  Excuses should be brought to the office before school.  An absence slip will be given to the student and should be initialed by each teacher.  After five absences in a class each semester, students must provide a medical excuse, legal excuse, or have an emergency situation excused by the office.  This also applies to check-ins and check-outs after five class absences. Checking in or out and missing 50% of a particular class time is an absence in that class.

Parents are asked to do all you can to make sure your student is here everyday.  Please plan appointments and family trips during non-school days.  Ten unexcused absences during a semester will result in "no credit" earned in those classes.  If you have questions during the year about attendance, please call the school office at any time.
